A change of pace – Before Dawn

silhouette of tree near body of water during golden hour

There is a sacredness to the hush before dawn
When stillness settles over one tiny slice of the world
After another.
Every bird call and shifting tree limb sounds disrespectful
As if they were interrupting an orchestrated silence
Before the day takes its first breath.
Rejoice in the silence.
That still moment holds a treasure more dear
Than the golden promise of sunrise.
It offers gratitude for yesterday and hope
For the limitless possibilities
Of today.
